About Lakewood Regional Support

Our regional support center provides resources to our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.

This position is responsible for the management of all workers compensation claims and General Liability Claims to include daily communication between insurance adjusters and attorneys and the tracking of all lost time and restricted duty claims to ensure total compliance with LHUO return to work policy. Also responsible for the compliance of maintaining property specific OSHA compliant first aid logs and creating quarterly workers compensation analytical reports through the insurance carriers database. Position monitors and maintains a tracking regimen through database. Compiles and produces statistical reports used by LHUO Executive management and Loews Corporate Management.

Job Specifics

  • Managesand tracks all lost time and restricted duty claims to ensure total compliance with LHUO return to work policy
  • Maintains communication with property specific Executive Committees and department heads on employees injuries, restrictions and follow up date status
  • Ensures total compliance in the maintaining of the property specific OSHA compliant first aid logs
  • Manages all workers compensation claims and general liability claims to include filing, follow up, and daily communication between insurance adjusters and attorneys
  • Follow-up with employees by phone, in-person, or in writing, using specific guidelines of communication
  • Maintains a tracking regimen with the insurance carriers access provided database
  • Reviews and analyzes reports from insurance carriers and claims adjusters as needed
  • Maintains database systems to track accident/loss statistics, maintains logs and claim files on all pending claims, prepares and submits related reports to management
  • Creates quarterly workers compensation analytical reports through the Clearview database
  • Organizes and maintains various databases used in Risk Management on a daily basis
  • Assists the Risk Manager in the establishment and administration of costeffective risk management programs that assure compliance with federal, state and local safety legislation, and industry best practices related to safety/security
  • Assists the Risk Manager in the development and enforcement of policies, procedures and standards for administration of the work unit in accordance with Loews Hotels Corporate Risk Management and safety / security objectives and guidelines
  • Identifies areas of non-compliance and recommends corrective action to remedy deficiencies
  • Maintains, requests, and updates Certificate of Insurance information provided by all companies conducting business with Loews Hotels @ Universal Orlando
  • Works closely with Security in conducting internal investigations of all workers compensation claims, identifying witnesses when needed
  • Analyzes findings and makes recommendations regarding disposition of claims to Risk Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent business experience
  • Two years Workers compensation claims management experience or equivalent training
  • Through knowledge of Florida State regulations regarding workers compensation guidelines and HIPPA compliance
  • Legal and/or Insurance experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written
  • Full command of the English language with a working knowledge of Spanish is recommended
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute on commitments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to quickly learn other software required by Risk Management
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and ADA compliance legislation and established guidelines, industry practices with regard to ensuring the safety and accessibility of Loews Hotel at Universal Orlando to both guest and employees
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple diverse tasks at one time
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
