Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $74,200 - Midpoint: $100,200 (Salaried E12)

Department/Organization: 502301 - Purchasing

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Director of Purchasing provides leadership and direction to the Purchasing Department to ensure compliance with State Bid Laws, applicable Federal requirements, and University policies and procedures. Oversees the management of all purchasing operational activities. Provides personnel management and short and long term planning.

Additional Department Summary: This position will provide functional leadership to the Purchasing Department which includes, but is not limited to, management of all Purchasing operational activities, short and long term planning, and personnel management.

This position may be eligible for remote-hybrid work.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of purchasing experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of purchasing experience.

Skills and Knowledge: The Director of Purchasing must have excellent financial skills including the ability to review proposals from vendors, analyze financial data and vendor financial statements associated with complex procurements.

Preferred Qualifications: C.P.M., C.P.P.O., or other nationally recognized purchasing certification and/or master's degree. Five years of relevant experience preferably in a purchasing department at an educational institution.
