Job Description:

People Operations Lead

We are looking for a dynamic People Operations Lead to take full ownership of our people operations function. This role is responsible for developing HR processes, implementing efficient systems, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, enhancing policies and procedures, optimizing ongoing employee programs and overseeing compensation and benefits administration. You will report directly to the Chief People Officer.

Position Location: Preference for one of our Kodiak office locations: Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, or Nashville but open to US remote.

Job Responsibilities

  • HRIS/Payroll System:
    • Manage and optimize HR information systems (HRIS) with Dayforce/Ceridian and other technology platforms.
  • HR Process:
    • Oversee and develop all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices.
    • Regularly review and update policies as needed.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Administer employee compensation, benefits, and retirement plans.
    • Ensure our offerings are competitive and in line with our budget.
    • Manage all aspects of benefits administration and develop strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding of all benefit programs.
    • Work closely with our broker and their benefits administration group to ensure responsiveness and resolution of employee benefits issues.
  • Legal Compliance and Immigration:
    • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations.
    • Ensure the company's HR practices are compliant.
    • Support regulatory compliance filings or audits as needed: Multiple Worksite Reporting, EEO-1, CA Pay Data, SOC II, and HR/Payroll audits.
    • Be the primary lead on immigration and working with outside immigration counsel.
  • Employee Records and Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
    • Utilize HRIS systems for efficient data management.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual HR reports.
  • Training and Development:
    • Coordinate required trainings, including sexual harassment prevention.
  • Culture and Ethics:
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
    • Promote company culture and ethics, ensuring they are reflected in our policies and daily operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in HR operations or a similar role, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems such as Dayforce/Ceridian, Workday, Applicant tracking recruiting system and other HR related software.
  • Self-starter with a natural tendency to take initiative, work independently, and effectively prioritize urgent tasks.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, attention to detail and prioritize effectively.
  • High proficiency level across the Microsoft Office software suite

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,333.00 to $262,395.00 per year.
