Alpha Source LLC, powered by Probo Medical, is looking for a Board Repair Engineer to be based at our West Jordan, Utah facility.  Alpha Source LLC delivers service and solutions under three brands — Alpha Source, BC Technical and Medical Optics. POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the testing and repair of circuit boards. Provided day-to-day guidance via work priority in support of the Board Repair Team, the System Refurbishment Team and the Computers team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs advanced testing, diagnosing and repair of circuit boards.
  • Performs advanced soldering of components circuit boards.
  • Performs needed refurbishment of Diagnostic Imaging Equipment.
  • Ensures that the appropriate throughput testing is completed and results are documented: if throughput testing results are not within desired range, identifies actions to be completed.
  • Works with all types of electronic diagnostic equipment, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers etc.
  • Works with blueprints, wiring diagrams, and procedures.
  • Works with all types of Windows and DOS based software products.
  • Being able to adapt to different software such as Unix, VxWorks, etc.
  • Provides Virtual Technical Support to Field Service Engineers or Field Technical Engineers
  • Meets corporate QA standards.
  • Maintains all assigned assets per company Policies and Procedures.
  • Improves personal productivity by enhancing product knowledge through formal and on the job training.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma, GED or its equivalent. Electronics Certificate or electronics engineering technology or similar degree program or its equivalent in work experience, preferred.
  • Minimum two year of work experience in the electronics field industry or equivalent field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Soldering skills.
  • Proven electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to use various types of manual and power tools.
  • The ability to operate a computer and navigate both Windows and DOS based programs
  • Ability to read and understand all types of schematics
  • The ability to organize and prioritize tasks as well as the ability to be a self-starter with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work well with others and alone.
  • May be required to obtain Medical DOT.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
Constant repetitive work using your hands. Requires tasks that may involve lifting, pulling and/or pushing of heavy materials, tools, equipment up to 50 pounds (any weight over 50 pounds will be team lifted).
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to key, handle or feel; talk or speak; hear, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch; bend; reach with hands and arms; and walk. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
