Position Summary:

As an Electrical Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls, you willwork independently, as well as with other engineers, in the development of new products and enhancement / maintenance of existing products. You will focus on the electrical controls, software and instrumentation aspects of new and enhanced products using state-of-the-art design tools and leveraging the most current technologies.

Work You'll Do:

  • Help develop new and enhance products. While the focus is on electrical, software and controls, consideration must be given to the interfaces with the mechanical aspects of the product.
  • Lead and, as necessary, participate in new/enhanced product prototyping, testing and optimization processes.
  • Provide, as necessary, technical support to Coperion's Service, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales groups.
  • Provide inputs for monthly reports and meetings on work in progress. Issue detailed test reports and technical reports at project completion and/or critical project stages
  • Manage / administrate software & licenses for Engineering & Design Departments.
  • Work with various teams/departments toward development, delivery, and validation of newcontrol system software (PLC andHMI) as well as the operation manualsfor standard CUS Extruders. Coordination across the company is a must.
  • Some domestic and international travel required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Part of the Engineering team for new machine design and implementation

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS (or equivalent mix of education and experience) in Electrical Engineering, Programming or Controls.
  • 2+ years' experience in technology/product development.
  • Proficient with Rockwell RSLogix/ Factory Talk Programing software.
  • Familiar with WonderWare Intouch visualization software.
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID's.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical/software system design using modern schematic capture, simulation, and layout tools.
  • Adept at assembling, calibrating, and testing prototyped designs as well as troubleshooting electrical, software and control systems.
  • Skill in using electronic test equipment such as meters, scopes, etc, and ability to follow detailed written procedures such as those found in calibration technical protocols.
  • Experience with WORD and EXCEL preferred. Experience with Microsoft Project desirable.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Familiar with CAD software packages
  • C and C++ proficient for Embedded Real-time systems or equivalent
