Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International company (PSI), referred to as ATL is seeking a junior level Architect to join our team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. This position will be a hybrid role.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

* Review and coordinate in-house and outsourced design projects by reviewing and developing. Statement of Works, Construction Drawings and Specifications.
* Review and provide design and technical solutions for a variety of project types and sizes at NREL campuses and leased facilities based upon NREL standards, user requirements, IBC and NFPA codes.
* Assist with construction administration of fast-track construction projects.
* Assist with estimating project costs to help establish reasonable baseline budgets and schedules including contingencies.
* Assist with investigating, creating, and documenting NREL standards and guidelines for material finishes, life safety, campus master planning, buildings, and workspaces.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree and 5yrs experience.

* Knowledge and coordination of building systems including electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and sustainability.
* Ability to analyze existing project conditions, costs of similar past projects, and research project materials as needed.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
* Proactive, passionate, well-organized, and detail oriented.

Citizenship: Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications

* Previous laboratory design and/or remodel experience.
* Experience with BIM/REVIT.
