POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is hiring a Field Service Technician to work remotely in the Las Vegas area. The Field Service Technician is responsible for supervising and performing field service installations, startups, repairs and maintenance of custom electronic locks and computer systems. The Field Service Technician will gather requirements, supervise projects and keep track of resources and materials. They will travel to customer sites, including hotels and multi-housing facilities, to install and configure software and hardware and conduct training on products in addition to troubleshooting and checking the functionality of equipment to evaluate and ensure optimal system performance.

HIRING PAY RATE: $23/hr. - $27/hr. Paid Overtime Required. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Configure and install client workstations (encoders and software)
  • Assist customers with setup of Property Management Systems (PMS) and creating interface connections with Property Management Systems (PMS) provider
  • Establish network setup with customer IT and install the company online system
  • Provide designs for new configuration system from the customer and provided to technical support
  • Installs and changes recalled products in the field
  • Extensive travel up to 65% through US and in Montreal, QC

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 - 2 years' plus experience in a technical role or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematics (engineering drawings)
  • Knowledge of relevant computer terminology and networking protocols,
  • Understanding of basic of hardware and network architecture models

WHAT WE PREFER

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in information technology or a related field (electronics, mechanics or similar field of study)
  • 2+ years' experience demonstrating progressively responsible positions in technical networking support and/or troubleshooting
