This is a hybrid opportunity. 3 days onsite at our Milwaukee Corporte office.

What's the Role?

We are seeking an experienced IAM Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of IAM projects, streamline work intake, carry out process rationalization, stakeholder management, and people management. This role will work across IAM team

Responsibilities

  • Work Intake and Process Rationalization: Streamline the work intake process by assessing and prioritizing engineering requests, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Rationalize existing processes to eliminate redundancy and optimize efficiency.

  • Security Engineering and IAM: Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and enhance IAM solutions, including access management, identity governance, authentication, and authorization mechanisms. Ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure IAM systems.

  • Delivery Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize project delivery, such as agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. Drive efficiency and quality in IAM engineering processes through automation and process improvements.

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, security teams, and IT operations, to understand requirements, align priorities, and ensure successful delivery of IAM projects. Effectively communicate plans, progress, and risks to stakeholders.

  • Transformation: Lead the transformation of IAM systems and processes to meet evolving business needs and industry best practices. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • People Management: Build and lead a high-performing team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in IAM/security engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing identity and access management solutions.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and experience with software development methodologies.

  • Demonstrated expertise in process optimization, including work intake, workflow automation, and process rationalization.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:

$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
