This roles supports the 7th Signal Command, Regional Cyber Center - CONUS, and Signal Brigades with operational engineering, planning, implementation, and troubleshooting of Theater Wide Area Network and network security initiatives in support of Army priorities.

Great Hill is seeking a Wide Area Network (WAN) Engineer in Fort Gordon, GA. The objective of this work is to serve as one of the Army's premier technical experts providing architectural design and implementation planning for secure and non-secure Theater level networks to support over 600,000 customers.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide architectural and engineering support to the 7th SC(T) Network Infrastructure Branch and Enterprise Services Branch support branch to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and security of Theater networks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in working groups in order to develop plans for modernization of Theater WAN, LAN and other enterprise level network transport capabilities.
  • Plan the accelerated elimination of obsolete legacy technology such as Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) & Time Division Multiplexing (TDM).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education/degree: BA/BS in computer sciences or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Secret security clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and track multiple independent concurrent projects and manage them to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and/or written communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with customer issues, data requests, analysis, and escalations.

Desired Skills:

  • It's preferred the individuals have network, security, or other IT certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate(CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or other vendor equivalent or industry standard certifications.
