Salary: The expected pay rate for this position is $33.00 - $38.50 per hour. The actual pay rate offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications and/or location.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Ramp Supervisor at AES plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of Boeing Dreamlifter activities. As a leader, you will guide a team of ramp agents overseeing the handling of cargo from aircraft to airport facilities. Your primary responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, ensuring compliance with procedures, and facilitating on-time arrivals and departures. With a focus on teamwork and communication you will provide direction to your team, observe operations, and relay important updates. In this dynamic role, you contribute significantly to creating a safe and collaborative environment where every team member contributes to our collective success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain vigilant oversight of the operational environment, continuously monitoring for changes that may impact safety or efficiency. Promptly communicating with leadership to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Regularly review and ensure strict compliance with all updates to policies including safety alerts, learning notices, procedural changes, regulatory standards, and local regulatory guidance. Foster a culture of adherence and accountability within the team.

  • Exemplify personal readiness to perform safety-sensitive duties at all times proactively identifying and addressing factors such as fatigue or stress that may compromise safe operational practices and taking appropriate action to maintain operational integrity.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement and refine best practices, streamline operational processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Take an active role in supporting the ongoing training and development of ramp agents, nurturing a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous growth within the team.

  • Provide invaluable guidance and mentorship to ramp agents, offering constructive feedback and performance coaching to empower team members and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive team environment promoting teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among all team members, and serving as a role model for professionalism and integrity.

  • Ensure unwavering compliance with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security requirements maintaining the highest standards of adherence to safety and security protocols at all times to safeguard personnel and assets.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School diploma or equivalent 3 - 5 years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • 3+ years of experience in a Ramp Agent or a similar position

  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferably in aviation or airport operations.

  • Previous ramp experience a plus.

  • Ability to work in extreme conditions including hot and cold weather as well as confined spaces.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement with a focus on delivering exceptional service and exceeding customer expectations.

  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in email and phone communication.

  • Adaptable to changes in the work environment and able to deal positively with frequent change.

  • Ability to work both as a team and/or independently.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • No travel restrictions.
