Job Summary

The Director of Brand Marketing & Communications drives James Avery's omni-channel brand strategy, messaging and marketing across all customer touch points. The Director is a leader in cross-functional partnerships with merchandising, design, retail, creative and ecommerce. Works closely with merchandising to develop marketing exposure plans for each campaign to spotlight new items, key seasonal collections and highlight our brand's message of meaning and connection across all marketing efforts and in all selling channels (retail, online and wholesale partners).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Responsible for the oversite of email marketing, social media, public relations (PR), special events, non-digital media planning, media outreach and community relations.
  • Develop marketing messaging and brand positioning recommendations across all Customer touchpoints for retail, online and wholesale.
  • Create marketing exposure plans around every campaign, product and event, ensuring the marketing strategy aligns with the overall brand strategy.
  • Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and evaluation of employees.
  • Manage the Social Media Team. Develop strategic annual plans and oversee execution of all Social Media, Public Relations and Media Outreach to include influencers and brand ambassadors.
  • Manage the Email Marketing and Brand Marketing team. Directly oversee planning and execution of product emails by campaign while working cross-functionally with the Marketing and Creative departments.
  • Develop and execute content strategies effectively communicating the brand message and resonate with the target audience. Proof all Customer communications for brand accuracy and strategic direction.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, social media, print, and events to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of brand marketing initiatives and regularly track and report on performance.
  • Serves as a strategic adviser for other corporate departments for their internal or external marketing needs. Partner with the Creative Project Manager to ensure solid marketing plans, completeness of information and brand accuracy.
  • Plan and buy all non-digital media for James Avery.
  • Develop and manage the brand marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI and achieve marketing objectives.
  • Consistently evaluate and lead new strategies and tactics to keep the brand relevant and competitive in the marketplace. Stay competitive with industry trends and innovations in brand marketing.
  • Builds and maintains strong, positive partnerships to establish a high level of trust and credibility with all levels of the organization.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 7 years' managerial experience in marketing, communications or relevant experience.
  • Experience leading and working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience managing a multitude of concurrent projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Effective communication and diverse interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with ability to effectively resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously and strategically prioritize to meet established and demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to the Kerrville and Cedar Park corporate offices as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with PR, Social Media and Creative Teams.
  • Experience managing a multitude of concurrent projects in a marketing or creative field.
  • Experience working with multiple outside vendors.
