Salary: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually. The actual salary amount offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or location.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Ramp Manager at AES holds a pivotal role in the orchestration of Boeing Dreamlifter Operations, ensuring flawless execution of ground operations. Leading a dedicated team, you will oversee the safe and efficient movement of cargo between aircraft and airport facilities. Your responsibilities include managing and guiding ramp agents and supervisors, maintaining a vigilant eye on safety protocols, and ensuring strict adherence to operational procedures and regulatory requirements. This role demands strong leadership, impeccable organizational skills, and a commitment to operational excellence in every aspect of ground handling operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the ramp operations team, providing clear direction and guidance to the Ramp Lead and agents to ensure optimal performance and adherence to operational standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards, including those set forth by regulatory agencies such as the FAA.
  • Review and enforce adherence to company policies, safety alerts, learning notices, and procedural changes to maintain a safe operational environment.
  • Proactively identify and address any safety concerns or hazards, taking corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of personnel and aircraft.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between ramp personnel, airport authorities, airline representatives, and other relevant stakeholders, effectively managing all communication channels.
  • Communicate important updates, procedural changes, and safety information to the ramp team, ensuring clear understanding and compliance with operational requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics, such as on-time performance, turnaround times, and safety incidents, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of equipment, facilities, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the training and development programs for ramp agents, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, professionalism, and ongoing skill enhancement.
  • Implement performance evaluation processes, providing comprehensive feedback to ramp agents and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic among all ramp personnel.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to address performance gaps and optimize ramp operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 5-8 years related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ramp operations management, preferably in the aviation or airline industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and operational procedures related to ramp operations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve operational excellence.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
