Dallas, TX - Hybrid (3 days onsite)
One of Vaco's publicly-traded clients is looking to onboard a Director of Finance to backfill for an internal promotion. This role will have 7 direct reports with oversight over all SG&A, managing the 5-year plan and budget for all functional areas and financial reporting/consolidated decks to the Board. In addition to the base and bonus package, the company offers a profit-sharing program vested over 3 years.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
- Partner with department heads and senior leadership to develop annual operating plans and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business performance.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial and operational metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the FP&A function, leveraging automation and technology where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business opportunities, evaluate investments, and support strategic initiatives.
- Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership and board of directors meetings, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and insights.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with [X] years in a leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SAP).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on driving results, identifying opportunities, and solving complex problems.
- Experience working in [specific industry or sector] is a plus.
