About Us:
The mission of Learning Technology Solutions (LTS) is to empower faculty to design and deliver technology-enhanced education. LTS provides several services including professional development, course development, instructional technology support, and design services. In addition, we offer individual and group consultations on instructional design principles and the integration of technology into teaching.

Position Summary:
The Teaching Assistant will assist in the learning design department of LTS and will be instrumental in contributing to the learning design process as well as the LTS newsletters and any communication regarding educational technology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with designing and creating content for LTS's staff and student newsletters, including research, writing articles, and coordinating contributing writers.
  2. Assist with updating documentation related to instructional technologies, including, but not limited to: Blackboard Learn (Original and Ultra), Panopto, Echo360, and other 3rd party tools.
  3. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff, to incorporate new academic technologies into their courses and assist in developing new instructional tutorials.
  4. Assist in designing, promoting, scheduling, and delivering training seminars that support blended, online, and "flipped" classrooms. Seminar topics include content management systems, accessibility tools, lecture capture, discussion boards, and other online collaboration tools.
  5. Assist instructors in learning design consultations.
  6. Use the internal ticketing system (TDX) to track tasks given by management and respond to emails received in the appropriate queue.
  7. Perform other related duties and assist the management team in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a full-time, degree-seeking student in a graduate program with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
  • Punctuality, reliability, and consistency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in content creation and editing.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with graphic design and relevant software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with Blackboard Original and Ultra Course View
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Technical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and meet strict deadlines.
