Job Description:

The Process Engineer supports the Manufacturing and Engineering departments through implementation and maintenance of process controls, projects that support Continuous Improvement, and foundry engineering projects to support timely production.

Projects would cover a wide array of foundry topics including specification review, foundry engineering methods, melting and pouring practices, finishing, weld procedures, and non-destructive evaluation.

This position supports our Continuous Improvement culture through providing solutions, applying best practices and developing meaningful, improvement-sustaining metrics. The person in this position will be expected to be competent in and perform formal, statistical analysis as needed in the organization. In addition, it is expected this person will communicate effectively to all levels of the organization regarding Continuous Improvement opportunities, activities and improvement breakthroughs. All activity performed by this resource is driven by a desire for improved customer service and business processes through the establishment of robust procedures.

Projects shall be managed by being an organized, efficient planner that is comfortable managing multiple diverse priorities in a dynamic business environment. This position is responsible for preparing a detailed project plan for each project including: project timeline, tracking and communication of project performance, thereby assuring timely completion of project goals. This person shall coordinate project improvements with the appropriate process owners to accomplish project goals and identify metrics to ensure sustainment of the improvements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate would have three to five years of work experience functioning in a foundry operation.
  • 6 Sigma experience is preferred
