DescriptionUnder the direction of the
Phlebotomy Manager and the Operations Manager, the Phlebotomy Coordinator is
responsible for all daily phlebotomy operations of the laboratory. This includes the staffing, coordination,
training and competencies of the Laboratory Phlebotomy Medical Laboratory
Assistant staff. The specific job
duties are listed below for the Phlebotomy Coordinator.
Qualifications
Required:
Knowledge of Medical
terminology. Ability to effectively deal
with a wide range of personalities, technical and support staff. Requires
intense attention and concentration. Ability to handle several processes
concurrently
3-5 years of phlebotomy experience and demonstrated proficiency in the
phlebotomy field
Completion of High
School or Equivalent, and Certificate of completion in Phlebotomy or Medical
Assisting or a phlebotomy course as part of an associate or bachelor degree
program such as nursing.
A Valid and Current
Driver's License, and clean driver's record per NSMC policy, which will be
reviewed annually during employee's employment.
Preferred:
A minimum
of five years of progressive experience in pediatric phlebotomy.
PBT (ASCP)
certification or certification obtained within the first year of employment.
