Job Summary
A postdoctoral position in genome editing and mammalian synthetic biology is immediately available in the laboratory of Leonidas Bleris in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. The Bleris Laboratory focuses on a range of research problems at the intersection of systems, synthetic biology, and genome editing.
Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Strong background in molecular and cell biology, genome editing.
  • Strong systems biology and data analytics skills are desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to mentorship and professional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for:

  • Conducting independent research in genome editing and synthetic biology, including designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
  • Collaborating with other members of the research team to contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting results at conferences and seminars.
  • Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the lab, providing guidance and support for their research projects.
  • Contributing to grant writing and other funding opportunities to support the research program.

This is a grant-funded position, renewable pending funding availability and satisfactory performance. A remote work schedule is not available for this position.
