RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world's premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.

Background Information:

This full-time position supports the Telemetry Systems Branch at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR controls and schedules range assets and services for conducting aircraft and weapons research, development, test, evaluation, and training events on the East Coast of the United States. The Computer Scientist will serve as a vital member of a small software development team that designs, creates, tests, and deploys telemetry software based on project driven requirements. If selected the candidate will work in a rewarding technical environment at the forefront of Naval Test & Evaluation (T&E) supporting the needs of today's warfighter and beyond!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle for assigned projects
  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy software solutions based on project requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users, both in-person and remotely, for real-time test missions
  • Conduct independent research to resolve complex technical issues
  • Work effectively in both individual and team environments
  • Maintain technical proficiency and adapt quickly to new technologies

Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications/Licenses:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
  • Experience with programming in C#, Visual Studio 2022, Team Foundation Server, SQL, Python, MatLab, S3, SQLite, git, and git-lab is preferred
  • Should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to ask questions as needed with the ability to leverage the internet to locate resolutions to problems
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass drug screenings

Clearance Requirement:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance throughout employment

Work Conditions:

  • Travel and/or overtime as needed may be required
  • Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
  • Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus
