Genesis10 is seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager for a leading company in Versailles, OH. This is a direct hire, W2 position in Cleveland, OH that will be onsite 5 days per week. Candidates must be a USC or Green Card Holder and able to work on a W2 basis with Genesis10.
Job Description: Responsible for leading the appropriate functional area in Product Engineering to deliver new products and services on time, on budget, and within quality targets. Responsible for adherence to NPD process, regulatory requirements of new products, and teammate development within the functional area. Lead an engineering team engaged in multiple project initiatives. This position is also responsible for the technical development of the teammates reporting to them. Collaborates with Engineering Managers, and Product Engineering Managers to make resource allocation decisions to support best develop and resource projects in the portfolio.
Job Duties:
Develop the technical skill level of the teammates within the engineering function
Provide goals and feedback to assist in teammate development
Utilize all appropriate management techniques to drive team effectiveness and engagement
Coach DFSS problem solving framework to increase NPD capability and promote continuous improvement
Effective application of appropriate Engineering, Scientific, and Design Technologies
Promoting Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the technology platforms within the function
Participate and lead where appropriate the technology roadmap of the function to align the organization for increased NPD throughput and quality
Partners with Product Engineering Managers and other organizational functions to meet departmental and organizational goals
Through appropriate engagement and education maintain up-to-date knowledge in all areas of responsibility.
Develop standards and processes to improve functional performance and effectiveness of team
Engage in sustaining work where applicable to ensure high quality and limit line down situations in production
Responsible for the delivery of engineering capability to satisfy product design and service demands of the organization
Responsible and accountable for the budget within the function group in coordination with organizational goals
Responsible for cybersecurity initiatives within product development
Maintain and adopt ultimate responsibility for firmware development requirements
Identify firmware development tools and plans to maintain a development edge
Define a plan to retain and build firmware technical capabilities
Develop SME's or design partnerships to implement UI/UX experiences
Responsible for developing and maintaining standardized hardware platforms
Maintain and adopt ultimate responsibility for electrical development requirements
Identify global, electrical design tools to standardize design and component libraries
Define a plan to retain and develop electrical design technical capabilities
Develop design partnerships to expand electrical design capabilities
Increase the engineering capacity of the organization by building more and better engineering competence through training, mentorship, knowledge transfer, standardization, separation of work, and application of problem solving among other applicable DFSS principles.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree engineering field and 6+ years of relative experience. Mimumin of 2 years managing/supervising experience.
Demonstrates leadership skills within their current role
Led projects within engineering or a closely related field
Has expanded their engineering and organizational awareness by completing rotational assignments in different departments/divisions throughout the organization
Process improvement
Demonstrated understanding of DFSS through execution of project work
Extensive supervisory responsibility in a functional domain, i.e. electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, etc.
Medical Device preferred
