About the Role

As the Director of Engineering, Industry4.0 and Digitization, you will lead the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions with our customers, identify and adopt new digital technologies and support the development of robust commercial models for customers in all segments/verticals. You will lead and develop the group, oversee technical areas, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Industry4.0 development team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap for Industry 4.0 integration and digitization within our thermal systems, IoT, data analytics, machine learning, and automation.
  • Explore new technologies and determine operational procedures to incorporate selected technologies into our existing systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including research and development, new product development, product management, and our business teams to integrate Industry4.0 and digitization capabilities seamlessly into our product portfolio.
  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and requirements, translating feedback into actionable insights to drive product enhancements and improvements.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams and Business Units to develop compelling value propositions, pricing strategies and solutions tailored to specific customer requirements, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and suppliers to leverage expertise, resources, and technologies to support Industry4.0 and digitization initiatives.
  • Catalogue key knowledge/skill areas, identify gaps, and cultivate a skilled technical workforce within the functional subsystem. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Participate in overall business planning to shape long-term departmental strategy and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and adhere to budgets and business plans, conducting periodic reviews of financial and operating performance.
  • Provide senior management with insights into technical trends and their potential impact on the company.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA) with 10 or more years of experience.
  • Experience in leading Digitization/I4.0 initiatives.
  • Direct customer interaction experience.
  • Supervisory training and experience.
  • Experience with commercial business models related to I4.0/Digitization offerings.
