DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role involves conducting inspection services to ensure that all activities are in line with the contract documents, ultimately contributing to the Department's objective of cost reduction without compromising quality standards. Additionally, the position requires reviewing the documentation of completed work units and materials utilized to guarantee precision and adherence to Department policies. Furthermore, the job involves providing guidance, organization, and oversight of the district's field construction project records, along with assisting in managing various software systems. The role also entails participating in technical evaluations of material costs for highway and bridge construction projects, ensuring that all expenses are accurately computed. Lastly, the position may involve other duties as assigned, highlighting the diverse responsibilities and tasks that come with this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Vendor-controlled position; flex schedule.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
  • One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
