Job Summary
The Clarity report writer analyzes, provide specifications for, and writes individual reports for their assigned applications. Clarity report writers are responsible for validating Epic Foundation System reports and identifying advanced reporting needs with report consumers. They must meet with the Epic Analyst and report consumers to understand their reporting needs. The Clarity Report Writer will create design specifications for new reports and identify and validate the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs. The Report Writer may create new reports, using third party report writing tools to display Clarity data. The Report Writer will have an ongoing responsibility of modifying existing reports, as necessary.\u2002\u2002\u2002* Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to develop and troubleshoot SQL scripts, Crystal reporting and other
\u00A0\u00A0 reporting technologies from database resources to deliver custom reporting that meets the needs of the business

* Follows functional specification documents to create reports within the Epic application.\u00A0 Completes thorough unit
\u00A0\u00A0 testing of all reports prior to handoff for functional and/or integrated testing.\u00A0 Documents and reports system issues
\u00A0\u00A0 through internal chain of command; communications with vendor where appropriate.\u00A0 10%
* Collects information regarding potential report enhancements and functionality needs.\u00A0 Prepares details of\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0
\u00A0\u00A0 specifications as needed.\u00A0 10%
* Gains an in-depth understanding of the Epic data model and determines data structures that benefits the entire\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0
\u00A0\u00A0 reporting environment.\u00A0 20%
* Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0
\u00A0 report issues to maximize system potential. 10%
* Prioritizes and implements requested reports and changes and analyzes new functionality in releases to determine
\u00A0\u00A0 how it should be used.\u00A0 5%
* Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives and works with the Epic representatives and GHS' end
\u00A0\u00A0 user community to ensure the system meets the organization\u2019s needs.\u00A0 5%
* Provides end user support during implementation; able to serve as a report expert to assist in application roll-out.\u00A0 5%
* Clearly documents all reports with Report Name, use, owner, purpose, specifications, database, data fields and other
\u00A0\u00A0 pertinent data points necessary to create a report databank. 5%
Bachelor's Degree - computer science, management information, healthcare or a related field
1 year - related experience in a business, operations, computer science or clinical field/setting
