The Levy Group of Companies is seeking Heavy Equipment Operator to work at our Specification Stone Products location in Alpena, MI

The Heavy Equipment Operators perform all functions as it pertains to operating heavy off-road mobile equipment for the purpose of loading trucks, rail trucks, rail cars, feeding plant and stockpiling materials.

Pay: Starting at $18 depending on experience.
Shift: Monday - Friday, Occasional Weekends, 10 - 12 Hour Shifts

Responsibilities
The Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator will:

• 
  Operate various heavy mobile equipment such as: Haul Trucks, 988K Front End Loaders, Dozers and Skid Steers
• Load rail cars, trucks, plant and stockpile material
• Perform daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
• Service plant as needed (i.e. minor adjustments, lubrication, cutting, welding)
• Shoveling aggregate under conveyors and around plant
• Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
• Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
• Meet customer service expectations
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager

Skills
The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment or the willingness to learn
• Ability to cut, weld and fabricate
• A team and safety-oriented mentality
• Ability to sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Work outside for an extended period of time, and tolerate noise and temperature variations
• Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
• Familiarity with loading/ unloading procedures and truck capacities
• Intermediate mechanical and welding skills
