How you will help us create value together:

As an Intern - Drills, Hydraulic Engineering, you will help fill the need of detail and engineering labor to support the design and expansion of the Komatsu blasthole drill product line. In addition to supporting the growing fleet of sold drills, the team must test new drill products while continuing to develop Dantotsu solutions for future products.

This onsite position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District. The target start date for this role is Summer 2024. We offer full-time hours during the summer or co-op semesters and flexible part-time hours during academic semesters.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering development team to expand state-of-the-art mining solutions for new products
  • Collaborate with engineering development team to improve state-of-the-art mining solutions for current products
  • Collect and organize data for product issues seen on current or new products. Team will use data to drive solutions.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings
  • Organize and effectively communicate information for stakeholders throughout the NPD and current product groups.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering (with an interest in hydraulics), or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior level student in good academic standing
  • Able to use SolidWorks for 3D solid modelling and drawing creation
  • Knowledgeable of drafting practices
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
