Summary:
The Compliance and Risk Engineer Senior will utilize their deep technical understanding to implement, manage, and maintain compliance solutions across the Azure, Purview, Defender, and Microsoft 365 environments. Enhance organizational security though the analysis, design, implementation, and support of organizational governance, risk, and compliance initiatives. Facilitates extended detection and response (XDR) processes, zero trust, and cloud security using the Microsoft Purview portfolio. Empowers PHS to protect, govern, and safeguard their sensitive data while managing compliance and maintaining organizational, patient, and member privacy. Shapes the Microsoft security technical implementation through in-depth platform and best practice knowledge. Reviews, designs, and implements enterprise data loss prevention strategies, e-discovery, labeling and classification of sensitive information, insider risk management solutions, and multi-factor authentication strategies and solutions. Engages with security and technology teams to proactively identify risks and issues through data gathering and implementation reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Azure architecture, services, and security best practices.
  • Experience in Azure MFA implementation and design
  • Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management controls
  • Experience working with security operations and integration with cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS security platforms such as AWS, Azure, Purview, AD/ADFS, Defender.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 7 years of relevant experience in information/cyber security; 5 years should reflect hands-on technical security experience with increasing levels of responsibilities. 4+ years experience in cloud infrastructure/M365 technologies specifically Purview and Azure.
  • Advanced IT Security Certifications desired.
    Security certifications preferred include: CISSP, CGSEC, GICSP, Cloud Certification for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 certifications related to security and compliance or studying towards attaining a certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure architecture, services, and security best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and security configurations.
  • Hands-On experience with Microsoft Purview, including data governance, compliance management, and risk assessment functionalities.
  • Experience in Azure MFA implementation and design
  • Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management controls
  • Working knowledge of compliance standards such as NIST, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Governance Excellence
    Aligns organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Operational Excellence
    *Provide security leadership and technical guidance on best practices for Azure infrastructure and Microsoft Purview.
  • Purview*s governance tools.
    *Develop and maintain policies for data classification, retention, and protection within Microsoft Purview ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Workforce Engagement
    *Collaborate with IT security, Technology, data governance, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Service Excellence
    *Responsible for identifying and optimizing practices based on industry security standards where possible.
  • Industry Excellence
    *Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry security standards and protocols including ISO 27001 / ISO 27002 and National Institute of Standards of Technology (NIST), Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
