As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Training Manager, Cooling Products, you will develop, implement, and consistently improve SPX Cooling products and service training for sales representatives, service professionals, employees, and customers. You will oversee the development of the sales and service curriculum to ensure a high effective learning experience, consistent with best practices in adult learning that will result in more effective behaviors from attendees. Under direction of the VP Commercial and the Director of Product Management, the incumbent will define scope, training tiers, and delivery methods of the training. They will manage the scheduling and logistics of the training, the LMS, the work of any needed training developers, and the measurement and tracking of the success of the training. The incumbent will recruit trainers and perform training as required. Working with the Marketing team, they will coordinate communication and marketing of training to representatives and customer, in addition to visiting reps and customers to gather insight on what training is needed.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Training Curriculum
  • Develop training curriculum and tiers for sales and service.
  • Manage LMS and training scheduling and logistics of all training programs.
  • Stay abreast of best practices in adult learning.

  1. Marketing and Communications
  • Work with Marketing to promote SPX training programs.
  • Manage awards, incentives, and any gamification to encourage participation.
  • Travel as necessary to conduct training and gain insight to training needs.

  1. Certifications and Programs
  • Oversee Rep Certification Program, internal technical training requirements, and Cooling-facilitated customer education.
  • Manage awards, incentives, and any gamification to encourage participation.
  • Oversee CE/PHH programs and webinars - ensure content qualifies for CE credit, manage accreditation, and coordinate presentation materials and delivery.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in training and communication to sales and service professionals.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of HVAC/cooling towers is helpful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, notably in related field.
  • Driver's License and proof of insurance.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Onsite office environment, Monday - Friday; Hybrid work schedule available after satisfactory completion of probationary period.
  • Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiples tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
