Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchants supported globally. Worldpay is the largest acquirer by volume globally, we provide a reliable, secure, and scalable payments platform 24x7 365 day a year.

Being part of the 200 strong Infrastructure Services organization, you'll help to engineer and deliver the core infrastructure services that power our payments platform. We're responsible for running some very critical systems, maintaining over 50,000 MIPS of mainframe compute across two production data centers.

We are looking for talented individuals to join the Infrastructure Services organization; you'll be a self-starter, possess an analytical mindset and be a change agent.

The Mainframe Systems team, part of the wider Infrastructure Services organization provides the operational systems management for the IBM zSeries infrastructure which hosts some of our most critical applications in the payments eco-system.

What you will be doing

As the Systems Manager Senior, you'll bring a depth of experience required to manage a critical and complex environment that has stringent uptime requirements to support our diverse payments platforms. Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchant supported globally.

You'll be leading a team of talented individuals who oversee daily operations for the zSeries infrastructure in North America, so as a senior leader you'll possess great interpersonal and communication skills to bring the best out of your team. You'll be adept at communicating with stakeholders within the organization, this will be a key part of for this role as our application teams reside outside the CIO organization.

  • 15 Years+ managing zSeries Infrastructure within a financial services organization.
  • Deep technical experience of leading critical systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate at different levels.
  • Solid technical background.
  • Technical ownership of the service throughout its lifecycle

  • Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS): advanced knowledge
  • Linux/LinuxOne: knowledge
