Zions Bancorporationis currently accepting applications for aSenior Financial Analyst to work a hybrid schedule in Midvale, Utah or Houston, Texas as part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.

FP&A is a key partner to executive and business line leaders in the company, enabling all levels of the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions to create sustainable financial performance and enhance shareholder value.

This position will be responsible for the financial support of our technology and operations divisions. This individual will be in an ideal position to learn the business of the Bank and interface with leaders across the organization. We are looking for an independent thinker that can understand the big picture and participate in team solutions to complex processes. It is imperative that the candidate have an eye for automation and process improvement to simplify routine processes and focus on advanced value-add analysis.

The Senior Financial Analyst will:

  • Create executive and board-level presentations explaining key financial trends
  • Produce monthly financial reporting for an executive audience
  • Direct annual planning and quarterly forecasting for the groups supported
  • Drive continuous improvements to the expense allocation, profitability, and reporting methodology
  • Assist in the design and implementation of effective cost optimization practices
  • Independently create and analyze financial models to guide management decision-making
  • Perform ad hoc analytical requests as needed

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's in accounting, finance or related field and
  • 6-8+ years experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including but not limited to concepts such as INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP, TEXT, INDIRECT, array formulas, pivot tables with calculated fields, named objects and basic VBA
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a large variety of audiences, from finance to technical employees to executive management
  • Ability to find creative solutions to previously unsolved data and reporting problems
  • A desire and an ability to find ways to continually improve processes and drive efficiency
  • Ability to contend with competing demands and occasionally changing requirements
  • Experience using Hyperion for reporting, planning and ad hoc analysis is preferred
  • Familiarity with SQL, Business Objects, Microsoft Power Apps or similar tools is a plus
