Job Description

The University of Missouri, Columbia is seeking a Senior Research Analyst for the Institute of Public Policy's Education Policy area. This is a full-time, 12-month position, renewable annually at the discretion of the university.

Project Management

* Support Principal Investigators in their work on education-related funded projects, including the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Educator Preparation Program Annual Performance Reports (EPP APR) and the Missouri School Climate and Culture Survey (MSCCS) projects.

* Assist in the revision of EPP APR and MSCCS surveys as needed.

* Assist in the distribution of surveys for EPP APR and MSCCS, monitor and manage survey databases, and follow-up correspondence.

* Clean and manage data for First-Year Surveys and MSCCS.

* Assist in the generation of EPP APRs and in their distribution via a publicly available site.

* Assist in the technical documentation report for the First Year Surveys.

* Manage a future public-facing data request system for EPP APR.

* Participate in monthly remote meetings with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) personnel.

* Assist with data analyses as required and with data visualization efforts.

Scholarship and Engagement

* Recruit and work with MU faculty members on research in the Education Policy area, and on the EPP APR and MSCCS projects specifically.

* Author and/or co-author fact sheets, issue briefs, data digests, and other materials as assigned.

* Edit reports for distribution and web publication.

* Assist with all aspects of preparing research articles for publication (literature reviews, data tables and figures, formatting reference lists, etc.).

* Represent IPP at public and professional meetings.

* Lead and/or assist with training new graduate research assistants.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytic skills, be adept with Microsoft Office, multivariate statistical analyses and data presentation, qualitative research analyses, and demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to lead teams and to work independently. We are especially interested in candidates with a PhD and greater than three years of experience in policy analysis or experience in the education field.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's in public affairs, education policy, or a related field and at least three years of prior experience in policy analysis or experience in the education field is required.
