MANAGERS FP&A

Job Description:

Responsible for the forecasting, KPI reporting, budgeting, analysis, external reporting, Board of Directors communications, investor communications, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities of the Company. Significantly interact with the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Accounting Officer, the VP Investor Relations, and the VPs of Finance for the Company's business units and segments.

More specific duties include the following: Forecasting: design and prepare the monthly template used by the Company's business units to submit forecasts and POVs; review monthly forecast submissions and analyze; prepare consolidated forecast summaries and POVs each month; present consolidated forecast summaries and POV summaries to Executive Management; and monitor forecast accuracy and assist teams in achieving that metric. Corporate KPI Reporting: maintain clear definitions of Corporate KPIs used by all business units; prepare monthly KPI bowler of actual results compared to budget; and present monthly Corporate KPI bowler to Executive Management. Finance Function KPI Reporting: support the Finance Leadership Team (FLT) by managing the process for monthly FLT meetings, including preparing agendas, reviewing agenda with CFO, consolidation of materials, and participating in meetings to review KPI results. Budgeting: design and prepare budget calendar and templates to facilitate annual budget process; work with business unit and corporate budget owners to identify and work through any budget challenges; participate in budget review meetings with business unit and corporate management; and prepare budget presentations for executive management and Board of Directors. Financial Analysis: prepare daily orders reporting and conduct order run rate analysis each week, design and prepare competitive benchmarking; and prepare ad hoc financial analysis for Executive Management. External Reporting: provide high quality support for the quarterly earnings release process; and prepare guidance issued to Wall Street and various analyses to facilitate quarterly earnings calls with sell-side analysts and investors. Board Communications: prepare quarterly Board communications on operations results and incentive compensation; and prepare other Board communications as needed. M&A: calculate and review return on invested capital (ROIC) for acquired companies; and prepare ad hoc financial analysis related to acquisition targets. Prepare effective communications to the Finance Leadership Team, the Finance Committee (or other Committees), and the Board of Directors, as requested. Perform special assignments as requested. In addition, work with the Company's Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting departments to formulate and improve finance policies, processes and procedures; assist with Internal Audit and Sarbanes Oxley compliance efforts as needed; and utilize lean enterprise techniques to continuously evaluate Belden's processes.

Job Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and five (5) years of progressive experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).

* A Master's degree in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years of experience in FP&A may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and five (5) years of progressive experience in FP&A.

  1. Other experience and skills must include:
  • Responsibility for general ledger accounting
  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial forecasts and budgets
  • Department level P&L and capital expenditures reporting and management
  • Preparing Executive and Board level presentations and analysis
  • Analyzing orders data and trends to determine demand patterns
  • Earnings release process for a public company, including investor communications
  1. CPA certification
  2. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
