Summary:
Responsible for the coordination and technical leadership of electronic hardware strategies and the electrical design and development of customer products.

Responsibilities:
* Designs and documents electronic hardware for customer products and related electronics, with management direction, to meet both the customers' requirements and manufacturing requirements
* Provides assistance to the Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test and ICT test for product, test and tooling development
* Performs evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan
* Creates documentation related to an electronic design project
* Contacts and works with hardware, software and equipment vendors
* Follows project plan; Report project status to leadership
* Assists in the coordination of electronic hardware engineering strategies for customers
* Assists in project proposals and associated cost estimates
* Participates in the development of advanced/new technologies
* Participates in research and development for new design methods and tools
* Assists with Design for Excellence (DFX) reviews and creates necessary documentation
* Develops an understanding of DFX philosophy and promotes with customers
* With management guidance, works with customers to understand requirements regarding product design
* Communicates with customer technical personnel regarding technical issues
* Works with Sustaining Engineering (product, process, test and quality) to develop products that leverage manufacturing and test processes
* Communicates technical challenges and work with peers to create and implement solutions
* Participates in continuous improvement activities with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format
* Designs and documents electronic hardware for customer products, and related electronics, to meet both the customers' requirements and internal manufacturing requirements
* Provides assistance and interacts with Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test and In-Circuit Test for product, test and tooling development
* Develops and follows project plan; Gathers and reports project status to leadership and the customer
* Provides sub-project level or full smaller scale project leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects, mentoring and training for engineers
* Deploys processes and systems within the workgroup
* Develops project proposals and associate cost estimates
* Works with internal manufacturing support groups to understand the requirements of the production environment
* Works with customers to understand customer requirements regarding a product design
* Provides research and development for new design methods and tools under management guidance
* Participates in identification and development of advanced/new technologies
* Drives design/development related business discussions on internal customer team(s)
* Performs portions of and lead Design for Excellence (DFX) efforts; Creates necessary documentation
* Communicates technical challenges and implements solutions where possible and as required
* Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format

* Knowledge of schematic capture tools, including but not limited to: Cadence OrCad, Cadence Concept, Mentor Design Architect, Mentor Design Capture, Mentor DX Designer, Veribest, Innoveda
* Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal with internal and external customers
* Familiarity with advanced technologies and applications
* Demonstrate an intermediate engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems; Ability to utilize this level of understanding to creatively and efficiently design products and assemblies based on various applications and technologies
* Demonstrate effective use of lab equipment
* Possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions
* Demonstrate a very good understanding of mechanism design; Ability to creatively and efficiently design mechanical portions of products, tooling and test fixtures based on various applications and technologies
* Ability to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques
* Effective interpersonal skills; Ability to mentor others
* Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism when representing the company
* Ability to take on project leadership/ownership
* Knowledgeable in various advanced technologies, i.e. Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design, Single Board Computer/peripheral design considerations, power supply design, Radio Frequency (RF) design, etc.
* Intermediate understanding of software programming techniques
* Available for travel up to 10-20% of the time, including day, overnight and international travel, as required
* 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, developing electronic hardware and software

Education:

4 year Engineering or Technical degree (EE or ME) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by senior management

Compensation Range: $96,069.680 to $144,104.520 USD
