Overview

The Brain Rhythms laboratory, led by Dr. Paola Malerba, is looking for a research coordinator, starting around July 2023. Duties will include conducting human subject research as part of the PI research program, data management, preparation of position papers and ensuring that research experiments and analyses are performed in accordance with specific guidelines. This position will require flexibility of work hours to accommodate scheduling of visits during evening and weekend hours. Opportunities exist for mentorship and professional development for applicants who are interested in gaining experience that will prepare them to apply for advanced graduate programs, particularly in neuropsychology and related disciplines.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    Contributes to data acquisition effort in research studies and conducts analyses as agreed upon with a principal investigator.
  1. Organizes and analyzes data in accordance with appropriate statistical procedures, and prepares reports, inclusive of graphs, tables, and photographs, of the results of studies.
  2. Contributes to preparation of position papers about research studies including information about difficulties encountered in setting up and conducting research studies.
  3. Assists in the preparation of scientific publications and grant proposals with regard to methodologies.
  4. Serves as a resource person for other investigators in collaborative studies that involve the PI, and contributes to technical training of other research personnel.
  5. Supports the preparation budget proposals for supplies and equipment needed to conduct research. Monitors study expenditures to assure that budgetary constraints are followed.
  6. When appropriate, collaborates with other ongoing lab research efforts within the CBH, NCH or OSU.
  7. Performs miscellaneous related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates degree, STNA, PCA, LPN, MA or equivalent work-related experience required.
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain CRA/CRC certification in a timely manner.
  • Skills:Understanding of medical terminology and clinical research preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and word processing and data management softwareDemonstrated analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Goal-oriented and self-directive
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to actively participate as a team player.
  • Experience: Previous experience in clinical research or health care related field preferred.
