Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) is actively seeking a self-motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as a GIS Technician supporting our Wetlands and Ecological Restoration teams. The selected candidate(s) will be working out of our Wilmington, North Carolina office

Job Duties

Primary work duties of this position will include the creation of customized maps, compiling and integrating field data into map deliverables, and managing GIS data. In addition, the position will include production of drawings for use in ecological restoration design drawings and environmental permitting. Software that are predominantly used for these applications are ArcGIS-ArcMap. ArcGIS Pro may be used for other applications or needs within DRG.

Qualifications

* Respondents should hold, at minimum, a Bachelors degree and certifications in GIS. Ideally, the candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Geography, Forestry, Natural Resource Sciences or a related field.
* Course work, training, or commensurate applied experience in GIS software is required.
* 2 or more years of experience in performing GIS focused work is preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in environmental consulting or engineering applications.
* Candidates should possess skills in using additional office software (Microsoft Word/Excel/Google Docs etc.), multi-tasking, and working cooperatively in a team environment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a full-time position with anticipated 40 Hours per week and the opportunity for overtime (to be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate). Compensation will be dependent upon the experience of the selected individual.
