WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Geospatial Lead Engineer reports to the JLCCTC (Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability) Chief Engineer and manages and directs geospatial engineering department resources and activities. This role will engage in and represent the geospatial discipline to ensure proper system development and support program execution of geospatial requirements for constructive database development and maintenance. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.

  • Responsible for the supervision of current geospatial production work and new product development activities.
  • Develop and recommend geospatial engineering policies and procedures consistent with company objective, including, but not limited to, new product testing procedures, problem solving, and training of geospatial personnel.
  • Manage the geospatial assets, hardware and software, and any of the other related programs or systems within the geospatial aspects of program performance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues, manage geospatial requirements with the program statement of work, and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate geospatial implementation aspects with senior technical personnel for all geospatial products or processes.
  • Provide technical oversight of the planning, organizing and coordinating of development and test procedures on current and future geospatial products and process.
  • Communicate with company personnel on projects, priorities, timetables and budgets as required.
  • Lead the geospatial team to resolve operational and integration issues.
  • Interact with customers and/or vendors.
  • Domestic and International travel to Military Installations in support of JLCCTC Program activities may be required.

  • Detailed knowledge and experience in the End to End workflow of the Synthetic Environment Core (SE Core) geospatial development process, including CADRG maps.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or another geospatial related major
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of design, building, and delivery of constructive geospatial databases and associated products.
  • Geospatial product development experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines and delivering simultaneous multiple, correlated database products, including map products.
  • Expertise in geospatial systems design, build, integration, verification, validation, with an emphasis on validation by government agencies.
  • Experience defining geospatial technical strategies and execution
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Highly proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Holds a current minimum DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
