Senior Payroll Specialist

We are looking to hire a Payroll Specialist for our Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, MO. This position is part of a team that is responsible for processing in-house payroll for employees in compliance with applicable personnel policies, collective bargaining agreements, and state/federal regulations. Currently the team is in the midst of redesigning their Human Capital Management Systems, and the ideal candidate will be assisting in the weekly payroll processing as well as collaborating in new process creation. Exceptional customer service skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and thriving in a collaborative work environment is a must.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process weekly certified payroll on all customer or legal requested forms and platforms
  • Aid in collective bargaining monthly remittances & reporting for a high volume of unions
  • Support Reconciliation efforts related to union fringes and deductions
  • Gather information for audit requests pertaining to payroll
  • Assist in analysis of collective bargaining agreements, wage, and benefit rates across various trades
  • Maintain company level tables for local union records, home local records, and fringe and wage tables
  • Oversee withholding & unemployment tax accounts across multiple states and localities
  • Process weekly payroll using various time system imports including Procore, HeavyJob, hh2, & RedList
  • Compile reports as required by management, union, and government agencies regarding employee payroll issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State & Union regulations
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Effective communication skills - both orally and through writing
  • Thrives in a fast paced, diverse team environment
  • Self-driven with an eagerness to learn
  • Experience with Timberline/SAGE 300Payroll is a plus.
