Overview
Join our team at the USU Panguitch Research Farm as a Maintenance Employee, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our research facilities. In this part-time position, you'll dedicate 20 hours per week to various tasks aimed at maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency of the farm.


Responsibilities
  1. Grounds Maintenance:
    • Water, mow, and maintain yard to ensure a neat and tidy appearance.
  2. Livestock Management:
    • Assist in fixing fences and relocating cattle as needed to maintain security and optimal pasture rotation.
  3. Vegetation Control:
    • Dispose of and spray weeds to prevent overgrowth and maintain the health of the landscape.
  4. Horticultural Support:
    • Conduct watering of research plots and orchard areas to support plant growth and study objectives.
  5. Agricultural Assistance:
    • Aid in planting and ongoing maintenance of demonstration and research plots to facilitate data collection and experimentation.
  6. General Maintenance:
    • Undertake various maintenance tasks as assigned to ensure the overall functionality and aesthetics of the property.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Valid drivers license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials
  • Must have experience using small equipment and with lawn maintenance.
  • Must be available to water and perform other tasks at a specified time.
