SharePoint Intranet Assessment and Improvement Consultant

The purpose for a SharePoint consultant is to assess Dexis' SharePoint-based intranet and provide recommendations for improvements and best practices in the areas of site maintenance, adding sites, page layout, and structure and organization.

The scope of work for the SharePoint consultant will include the following tasks:

  • Work with Dexis to identify their current and future business needs and requirements for their intranet.

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of Dexis's existing SharePoint-based intranet, including organization and key processes, to identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide recommendations for improvements and best practices in the areas of site maintenance, adding sites, page layout, and structure and organization.

  • Develop an implementation plan outlining the steps required to implement the recommended improvements and best practices.

  • Provide training to Dexis' staff on the use of the recommended improvements and best practices.

  • Create documentation including user manuals and operational manuals.

  • Create a customized home page with links to frequently used sites, important news, and alerts.

  • Review the site's navigation structure and make it easy for users to find what they need by simplifying and streamlining the navigation.

  • Ensure that the search functionality is optimized and that users can easily find what they need using keywords.

  • Ensure that forms are easy to fill out and that users can easily submit requests or complete tasks.

  • Ensure that the site is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by providing appropriate accommodations.

  • Provide support after implementation to ensure that the recommended improvements and best practices are successfully implemented and to address any issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with SharePoint, including implementation, customization, and administration. Experience with multiple versions of SharePoint (e.g., SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2019, etc.) is a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of SharePoint features, functionalities, and best practices. Proficiency in SharePoint configuration, site architecture, content management, document management, workflows, search, and security.

  • Strong technical skills in SharePoint development, including proficiency in SharePoint Designer, PowerShell scripting, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx). Experience with SharePoint APIs, Web Parts, customizations, and integration with other systems and applications.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective SharePoint solutions that improve collaboration, communication, and productivity within an organization. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Capability to provide user training and create documentation, guidelines, and best practice resources for SharePoint usage. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex business requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and recommend appropriate SharePoint solutions.
