Job Summary

The Fiscal Analyst provides analytical and fiscal support for activities associated with College and Grant related funds, including requisitions and purchase orders, ProCard transactions and reconciliations, travel authorizations and cash advances. Monitors and controls expenses consistent with assigned departments under District's policies.

Essential Functions

40% - Provides analytical and fiscal support for activities associated with college related funds, including requisitions and purchase orders, ProCard transactions and reconciliations, travel authorization; monitors and controls expenses consistent with District's policies; monitors for deficits and ensures remedial steps are implemented as appropriate



20% - Researches, interprets and advises on related fiscal policies, procedures and regulations; authors documents and makes presentations; reviews processes and reporting for compliance with fiscal, budgetary or internal controls and procedures; makes recommendations for improvements20% - Responds to inquiries and provides technical and analytical support using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and professional communication platforms



10% - Collaborates with others to review, recommend and implement modifications to accounting systems and procedures in order to streamline budget and fiscal processes and improve controls; other duties as assigned

10% - Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in finance, accounting or directly related field and two years of experience providing professional financial analysis for area of assignment.

OR

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four years of experience providing professional financial analysis for area of assignment.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and six years of experience providing professional financial analysis for area of assignment.

Desired Qualifications

A. Demonstrated experience interpreting regulations, laws and guidelines.

B. Experience in fiscal management/oversight, including understanding complex financial transactions, recordkeeping, and presenting fiscal outcomes

C. Experience using spreadsheets and database software to retrieve, analyze and interpret data for reporting and data manipulation

D. Experience with PeopleSoft ERP (Financial Management System) and extracting data from these systems.

E. Two (2) years working in a team environment

F. Degree in finance and/or accounting

Special Working Conditions

May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time viewing a computer monitor

May be required to work evenings and weekends.

May be required to work remotely or at on-campus locations.
