The Paralegal - Labor & Employment is responsible for providing support and assistance to attorneys in the management, coordination, and administration of all aspects of the practice area within established administrative procedures. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

  • Follow basic legal procedures.
  • Assist with trial preparation.
  • Draft basic correspondence.
  • Coordinate service of process (local and nationwide).
  • Work with vendors relating to remote depositions and legal material requests.
  • Assist with the delivery/filing of court documents, records and copy requests.
  • Prepare for depositions of witnesses in cases.
  • Complete projects within given deadlines.
  • Provide status updates throughout the projects.
  • Coordinate projects with direct supervision from attorneys and senior paralegals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 0-3 years of paralegal experience.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external personnel of all levels.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet varying deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of the practice area.
  • Ability to learn practice support systems and group specific software.
  • Exhibits a substantial willingness to learn from senior paralegals.
  • Proficient knowledge of applications typically used (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite).

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: Los Angeles, CA: $59,038 to $81,107

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range(s) are Nixon Peabody's good faith estimate of the annual salary(ies) it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
