At the core of this role is storytelling. Within the organization, the Digital Communications Manager will create narratives to inspire, inform, and align employees with the mission and values. Externally, they will shape the brand story of Family & Children's Services, communicating its unique values and services to clients, partners, and the wider community to build lasting connections and brand loyalty. Leading both internal and external communication efforts, they'll craft content and campaigns for social media platforms, enhancing engagement and amplifying the organization's message to diverse audiences.

JOB SUMMARY:

Content Creation and Curation:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies integrating storytelling techniques to communicate messages effectively.
  • Analyze organizational goals, target audience preferences, and brand identity.
  • Identify key messaging themes and content priorities.
  • Craft compelling long and short-form narratives resonant with internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Tailor content strategies to address the needs and interests of diverse audience segments.

Internal Communication:

  • Develop internal communication strategies and manage content for internal staff.
  • Work with creative designers to update content on the FCS employee intranet.
  • Produce high-quality written content for various internal communication channels.
  • Oversee internal communication channels, ensuring regular updates with relevant content.
  • Coordinate company-wide announcements and updates with senior leadership.
  • Assist in developing and executing communication plans for organizational changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and gather feedback on communication initiatives.

External Communication and Public Relations:

  • Craft press releases, media pitches, and PR materials highlighting organization achievements and thought leadership.
  • Coordinate interviews with key stakeholders and prepare talking points and media training as needed.
  • Communicate with partners, donors, and community members, sharing updates on programs, events, and impact.
  • Oversee written content for agency campaigns, website updates, and social media platforms.
  • Work closely with creative designers and social media specialists to develop cohesive campaign concepts and content strategies.

Content Personalization and Analytics:

  • Utilize data analytics and user insights to personalize content experiences.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to measure storytelling effectiveness.
  • Assess the impact of PR initiatives on brand awareness, reputation, and stakeholder perception.
  • Track metrics such as media impressions, share of voice, and sentiment analysis to refine PR strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, professional writing, journalism, communications, marketing, or another writing-intensive field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in content creation, writing, storytelling, social media campaign creation and/or editorial roles.
