Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking a Vice President to lead The Defense Portfolio Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the military or Department of Defense (DoD) service coupled with extensive corporate experience in business leadership and growth. This individual will play a crucial role in advancing our strategic objectives, fostering key partnerships, and driving revenue growth within the defense sector, particularly with the US Air Force. This role is remote, but the candidate must be in the Washington DC area.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Defense Portfolio's initiatives to include engaging with Jefferson's SDVOSB Joint Venture. Develop and implement comprehensive business plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Contract Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the US Air Force contract, overseeing all aspects of contract management, compliance, and performance. Ensure alignment with contractual obligations and deliverables while maximizing value for both the organization and the client.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the defense sector, leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new partnerships. Lead the development of capture strategies, review solicitations, and lead and support proposal efforts to secure new contracts and expand market presence.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within the US Air Force, where Jefferson has an active contact, and other defense agencies. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding their needs and priorities to deliver innovative solutions and exceed expectations.
Team Leadership and Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to a diverse team of professionals within the Defense Portfolio. Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement to drive individual and collective success.
Financial Management: Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics for the Defense Portfolio. Monitor and analyze financial data to inform strategic decision-making and ensure profitability.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards. Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the success of projects or the overall business.
