Overview of the Role:

Dotdash Meredith is seeking a YouTube Optimization expert to join its growing Video Strategy team. Ideal candidates will be highly innovative and entrepreneurial, proactively working to drive increased viewership and engagement across the portfolio of DDM YouTube channels.

Reporting to the VP of Video Strategy, the Optimization expert will lead the modernization of DDM's design, metadata, and publishing workflows on the platform. The Director will work with their teammates in Development and Strategy in defining and executing a new programming vision and partner closely with the broader DDM video team and brand leadership.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of multiple YouTube channels

  • Optimize and publish content (Videos & Shorts), with a hyperfocus on thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, etc.

  • Increase community interaction on the channels

  • Streamline scheduling and publishing workflows

  • Work closely with Development teammates on the optimization and rollout of series Pilots

  • Be a key member of the DDM x YouTube Partnership, leading Beta program involvement, support outreach, Platform feedback, etc

  • In partnership with internal Data Science & Product teams, define reporting to help inform optimization priorities and evaluate the effectiveness of tactics

  • Build series templates for new and existing shows

  • Filter platform and content insights back into the team

  • Hire, manage, and develop direct reports

Must-haves:

  • 6+ years of experience in managing multiple YouTube channels in the Media & Entertainment space or MCN

  • Fundamental understanding of the relationship between organic viewership and monetization

  • A clear understanding of business priorities and the capability to translate them into KPIs

  • Nimbleness is critical as we invest, grow, and evolve - thrives in an environment where both collaborative and independent work is necessary

  • Incredibly strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ideal candidate is curious about pushing the boundaries of broadly established video 'best practices', and is eager to experiment

Pay Range

Salary: $98,000 - $140,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
