Job Description

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is currently seeking a MEP Project Coordinator to join our South Texas Team in San Antonio. The MEP Project Coordinator is part of the operations division and will oversee the planning, direction, coordination and follow up work before, during, and after installation including warranty repairs on various commercial projects.  Specialized knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is vital to the success of this role.

This person is responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed per contract plans and specifications. This role will also act as a liaison to owner and project manager to set standards for performance and quality. The MEP Project Coordinator will also be able to perform certain punch list items necessary to help ensure quality for our clients.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Review mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and technology equipment to verify that the rough in shown on the plans and specifications will work with the scheduled equipment.
  • Schedule and coordinate QA inspections with Owner’s Rep or client representatives for owner provided equipment.
  • Acts as a liaison with owner, local regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on equipment coordination matters as required.
  • Manages and reviews project specific subcontractor shop drawings and product data.
  • Performs, schedules and witness inspections/testing, as well as monitoring construction activities for owner provided equipment.
  • Participates in project reviews to assess the application and effectiveness of company standard operating procedures, sub-contractor processes and procedures and identifies any opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage in problem solving by bringing together technical experts, authorities having jurisdiction, assigning action items, documenting minutes and follow through to closure of project.
  • Reviews work for compliance, maintains updated contract documents, drawings, specifications, as-builts, request for information and approved submittals.
  • Implements punch list items for final inspection and acceptance.
  • Attend client quality management meetings.
  • Coordinate subcontractor procurement and quality control efforts for owner furnished equipment.
  • Performs QA surveillance over each subcontractor’s quality control efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of commercial construction field experience.
  • Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach working with both Client, subcontractors, etc.
  • Experience coordinating equipment that will be installed on a project with the rough in requirements.
  • Experience reviewing submittals and tracking procurement of materials and equipment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email, internet and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to perform punch list items to ensure the highest standard of quality for the client.
  • Background in the mechanical or electrical industry.
  • Experience working on datacenters.
