Are you a Construction Engineering professional with a passion for exceptional client service? Terracon is growing and seeks a Project Engineer to join the Materials services team supporting the Transportation Sector in our Cincinnati, OH office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help build a well-established and strong technical team, build and maintain client relationships, and grow our consulting engineering practice. Right now, we are looking for a Project Engineer for our Ohio Team - someone who is a dynamic leader who wants to lead quality inspections and testing on transportation projects of all sizes in Ohio. Working in tandem with senior Terracon staff you plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain client relationships. Once the project has been successfully won, you will help lead all efforts on the project site. Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies, procedures, and standards. Supervise the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability, track and evaluate project progress, and budgets, and recommend changes. Supervise the daily operations of a department including staff training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies and procedures.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Career level, fully competent engineering professional with responsibility for managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity.
- Independently perform a variety projects or selected segments of larger projects.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Work closely with senior-level project managers to gain additional project management experience for more complex and larger projects.
- Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations and modifications.
- Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
- Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
- Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
- Interact directly with client and project team on developing scope of services, communicating project progress and findings and recommendations.
- Write and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
- Participate in marketing, sales and business development.
- Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff.
- Work under the supervision of an Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years' experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
