Join one of the largest electric cooperatives in the nation as an Energy Contracts Originator/Negotiator! We are looking for an experienced candidate who has a passion for strategy, risk identification, and a knack for negotiations!

The Energy Contracts Originator/Negotiator will be responsible for long term power and fuel supply, generation development alternatives, and transmission interconnection requests. Focus areas will include natural gas supply, pipeline transportation, coal supply, rail transportation, and renewables (wind, solar, hydropower).

What You'll Be doing:

  • Develop and execute strategies for energy contracting activities
  • Identify and assess risks associated with various energy-related contracts
  • Conduct negotiations and originate contacts for natural gas, coal, renewables, power supply, and transmission interconnection
  • Evaluate strategic commercial opportunities in the energy sector
  • Administer existing long-term contracts and develop counterparty relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective coordination and reporting

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in contract drafting/negotiation for wholesale power or energy
  • Knowledge of fuels supply and transportation, utility-scale generation project procurement or development
  • Strong technical writing skills with acute attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and report on complex energy projects
