The Director of Pricing, Marketing Strategy & Planning will manage a diverse team of Custom Pricing & Commercial Marketing Offer professionals focused on driving growth and profit through structuring of unique commercial deals that enable our Enterprise and Government segments the ability to win in the marketplace. Our Commercial Marketing teams position market with brand appropriate national offers that allow us to compete and win against key competitors. Responsible for defining and driving the pricing and promotion motions that will enable T-Mobile to achieve key business results in these segments. Understand T-Mobile's strategic and competitive position and deliver promotions that are recognized best in the industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Strategy: Develop and implement core portfolio strategies to promote growth and Brand strength in Enterprise and Government segments. Provide pricing leadership on all major new product or service launches; new handset or rate plan portfolio pricing strategies; and reposition/reinvention of T-Mobile's service pricing value proposition. Provide consultation for tactical pricing moves (such as in-quarter promotions).
  • Operationalize Price Plans: Establish the Company's strategic pricing guidelines, as well as the pricing approval processes and templates in close collaboration with C-level executives, Marketing and Finance leadership. Owns all communication and enforcement of these guidelines and processes across the Enterprise. Direct the education of key business owners and marketing managers on the principles of strategic pricing. Establish on-going educational forums for existing and new employees in the product and marketing organizations.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of pricing and marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of pricing and promotion strategies to achieve business results.
  • Custom Pricing Leadership: Develop and implement internal pricing deal decision process with Sales leaders on commercial offers. Formulate pricing strategy that balances long term financial results with short term business needs.
  • Develop and manage to KPIs: Establish key metrics, assess the performance of pricing strategies against objectives, and recommend changes to improve financial performance.
  • Pricing and Promotion Roadmap: Develop and evolve the pricing and promotion roadmap across the Enterprise and Government segments based on business needs and stakeholder feedback.
  • Competitive Assessment: Responsible for identifying and implementing offers based on competitive landscape, business performance and customer pain points. Provides strategic recommendation on offers and programs to capture market share.
  • Segment Planning: Lead strategy to identify market opportunities, create and develop plans to win market share in Enterprise and Gov't segments.


Work Experience:

  • 10+ years' proven leadership experience in a marketing or operations environment.
  • 10+ years' experience using pricing software and developing pricing strategies and policies in high tech, service-oriented business.
  • Experience working across functions with the ability to influence leaders across the organization.
  • Bachelors degree is required; MBA preferred (Business/Accounting/Finance/Math/Applied Science)
  • Creative Thinking: Ability to break out of well-worn patterns and implement fresh, attention-grabbing approaches.
  • Distillation of Complexity: Ability to cut through layers and gain agreement across functional areas to implement the most impactful strategies for pricing and promotions. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, make decisions decisively.

Washington Pay Range : $163,400.00 - $221,000.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
