Position Description:

The Architectural Design Manager, operating within BOND Building's Integrated Design team, is responsible for collaborating with the firm's practice leaders to deliver architectural design services in support of BOND Building's expanding design build portfolio. This position will serve as a project manager across a wide range of project typologies including academic, healthcare, life sciences, and corporate interiors. The manager will be responsible for the management and training of junior-level design staff to encourage career development and support the architectural services of the firm and the firm's clients. The Manager will also support financial initiative related tasks pertaining to project budgets, team revenue, and financial forecasting for individual projects and long-term planning. This position reports to the Director of Integrated Design in a secondary role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills for a rapidly growing team
  • Engage and interact with design leadership for delivering architectural services while supporting project delivery in a client-facing role
  • Coordinate with team leadership for the development of team approaches, processes, and long-term strategic planning to support continued growth of the business
  • Support financial tracking initiatives across projects and team revenues
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship of entry-level design staff in a supervisory role
  • Create conceptual drawings, programing, and fit plans as basis of design for renovation projects
  • Develop presentations, renderings, and diagrams for design intent and client visualization
  • Deliver construction documentation, specifications, and 3D design models for use in construction
  • Support construction administration services

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Architecture
  • Minimum four years professional firm experience
  • Experience in Healthcare facility design and renovation is beneficial
  • LEED accreditation is beneficial
  • Architectural licensure is preferred but not required
  • Understanding of architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings as well as understanding of BIM and 3D modelling
  • Previous architectural project management, team leadership, or supervisory experience is beneficial
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting is beneficial

  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Knowledge of space planning, compiling construction documents, design production, and construction administration
  • Strong design and graphic skills
  • Applicants are expected to demonstrate proficient knowledge in the following software and programs:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Enscape
    • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in the following software is preferred, but not required:
    • Lumion
    • Twinmotion
    • Rhino/Grasshopper
    • Sketchup
    • Dynamo

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be willing and able to visit project sites in-person for purposes of the job functions provided above. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
