• Ensures all duties abide by the SHE policies while performing tasks in a safe manner.
• Operate hand, machine and power tools including man lifts, wheel loaders, cutting torches, welding equipment and alignment instruments.
• Fabricate equipment frames along with guards and pipework.
• Disassemble equipment and reassemble with new parts as needed.
• Inspect and test machines to ensure they are in proper working order.
• Familiarize with the hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in order to troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
• Responsible for proper handling and storage of hazardous waste and used oils.
• Communicate with departments within the plant to assist in preventive maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance records for loaders and other equipment in the plant.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment within the plant according to designated schedules.
• Perform other duties needed to maintain the operation of the facility.
• Enter in confined spaces to help do repairs and clean areas.
• Rebuild/replace pumps pump seals, motors, gears, gear boxes, shafts, bearings, couplings and other drive equipment as needed.
• Operate milling machine to cut keyways on shafts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associates degree preferred. Relevant work experience as plus.
• Must have good basic math skills.
• Must be medically able to wear a full-face respirator.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Team player
• Must posses a Alabama driver's license.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to periodically work outages.
• Ability to set priorities and analyze problems
• Previous heavy equipment operation a plus
