Position Summary
Primary responsibilities and duties include:
  • The operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of:
    • Audio equipment and sound systems.
    • Analog and digital video equipment.
    • Lighting control systems.
    • Projection systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The expected salary for the A/V Technician is $71,915/annual. This position is overtime-eligible and the AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.

Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in AV operation and support.
  • Familiarity with PC and Mac computer operation systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and floor plans.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic concepts.
  • Good mechanical skills. Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Familiarity with digital video projectors.
  • Understanding of modern video formats.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work well with others in demanding and stressful situations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and high manual dexterity sufficient for duties above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or a two-year technical school certificate is strongly preferred.
  • A specific focus in lighting or audio is preferred.
