Job Description

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting with the proposal process and coordinating bid and contract documents from original estimate to job start up to ensure Graniterock is a responsive bidder while ensuring alignment with Graniterock's Strategic Priorities and business objectives.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety before All Else."
  2. Partner with estimating staff in bid preparation and job startup by utilizing thorough knowledge of terminology, procedures, and practices to ensure needs are met.
  3. Prepare Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Good Faith Efforts for various public and private agencies.
  4. Prepare contracts, procure project plans, and advertise projects in trade publications.
  5. Assist and coordinate the overall preparation of project proposals to ensure all deadlines are met and the proposal package is complete.
  6. Coordinate the development and maintenance of information databases (resumes, images, etc.) to facilitate proposal preparation.
  7. Prepare bid documents and deliver bids to project owners.
  8. Respond quickly to changing bid conditions and deadlines as determined by estimators or project owners.

Education and Work Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years Administrative Assistance level experience in a construction related business.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Notary Public preferred.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and work with others who are not direct reports through influence.
  • Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to understand bid specifications and minority contract goals from various public and private project owners.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Excel, and Bluebeam Revu.

This position has been identified as a "safety sensitive" role and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing, per the Graniterock Substance Abuse policy.
